New changes to Student Visa (onshore)

OVERSEAS STUDENT HEALTH COVER (OSHC): Since 1 January 2011 it has become mandatory that all international students take out OSHC to cover the entire duration of their proposed stay in Australia. This includes the period after the course has finished but before the visa expires (can vary from one month to four months depending on length of course and when the course finishes). Evidence of the OSHC must be provided regardless of Assessment Level (including AL1 countries who previously were granted based only on declaration). The only students exempt from taking out OSHC are those with specific overseas students reciprocal health care arrangements with Australia, namely Belgium and some students from Norway and Sweden.

ก็อยากจะบอกน้องๆนักเรียนหลายๆคนนะครับว่า การที่เราเรียนจบอะไรสักอย่างเนี๊ยะ ไม่ได่ขอ TR หรือ PR ไปสะหมด เราต้องดูสาขาที่เราเรียนก่อนว่า เป็นสาขาอาชีพที่ ออสเตรเลีย ต้องการหรือเปล่า เริ่มศึกษาตั้งแต่เนิ่นๆ ไม่ใช่กะจะไปสอบ IELTS ทำโน่น ทำนี่ เตรียมตัวกันยกใหญ่เลย แต่ปรากฏว่า สาขาอาชีพ ไม่ได้อยู่ใน list ของ immigration แบบนี้ ก็ต้อง plan B, plan C นะครับ ว่าจะทำยังไง

General Skilled Migration points test ใหม่ จะมีผลบังคับใช้วันที่ 1 July 2011 เป็นต้นไปนะครับ ส่วนใครที่มีสิทธ์ได้รับการยกเว้น ก็แนะนำให้อ่าน blog เก่าก็แล้วกันนะครับ โทษที blog อันก่อนไม่ได้เขียนเป็นภาษาไทย เพราะไม่ว่างจริงๆ

OK เข้าเรื่องจองเราเลยดีกว่า point test อันใหม่นะครับ

- สาขาอาชีพต่างๆ (occupation) ไม่มี point ให้นะครับ

- อายุ 18-24 ได้ 25 points

- อายุ 25-32 ได้ 30 points

- อายุ 33-39 ได้ 25 points

- อายุ 40-44 ได้ 15 points

- อายุ 45-49 ไม่มี point ให้ แต่ก็ยังสามารถสมัครได้

- ผลสอบภาษาอังกฤษ IELTS 6 (6 x 4) สมัครได้ แต่ไม่มี point ให้

- ผลสอบภาษาอังกฤษ IELTS 7 (7 x 4) ได้ 10 points

- ผลสอบภาษาอังกฤษ IELTS 8 (8 x 4) ได้ 20 points

- ประสบการณ์ในการทำงาน ในประเทศออสเตรเลีย 1 ปี ภายใน 2 ปี ก่อนยื่นใบสมัคร ได้ 5 points

- ประสบการณ์ในการทำงาน ในประเทศออสเตรเลีย 3 ปี ภายใน 5 ปี ก่อนยื่นใบสมัคร ได้ 10 points

- ประสบการณ์ในการทำงาน ในประเทศออสเตรเลีย 5 ปี ภายใน 7 ปี ก่อนยื่นใบสมัคร ได้ 15 points

- ประสบการณ์ในการทำงาน ในต่างประเทศ 3 ปี ภายใน 5 ปี ก่อนยื่นใบสมัคร ได้ 5 points

- ประสบการณ์ในการทำงาน ในต่างประเทศ 5 ปี ภายใน 7 ปี ก่อนยื่นใบสมัคร ได้ 10 points

- ประสบการณ์ในการทำงาน ในต่างประเทศ 8 ปี ภายใน 10 ปี ก่อนยื่นใบสมัคร ได้ 15 points

- Professional year ได้ 5 points

- จบ PhD ไม่ว่าภายในประเทศ หรือจบจากต่างประเทศ ได้ 20 points

- จบปริญญาตรี หรือ ปริญญาตรี + โท หรือ Honors ไม่ว่าจะจบภายในประเทศออสเตรเลีย หรือจบจากต่างประเทศ ได้ 15 points

- จบ Diploma ภายในประเทศออสเตรเลีย ได้ 10 points

- จบ Cert III/IV ภายในประเทศออสเตรเลีย ได้ 10 points

- Apprenticeship จากต่างประเทศ ได้ 10 points

- เรียนภายในประเทศออสเตรเลีย ได้ 5 points

- Community language skills ได้ 5 points

- เรียนในสถาบันที่อยู่นอกเมือง (regional) ได้ 5 points

- Partner skills ได้ 5 points

- State or Territory Nomination ได้ 5 points

- Designated Area Sponsorship ได้ 5 points

คะแนน หรือ points ที่ต้องผ่าน คือ 65 นะครับ

และก็ขอโทษที่ต้องเขียน blog ทั้งภาษาไทย และภาษาอังกฤษ แต่ถ้าใครไม่เข้าใจตรงใหน ก็สามารถ email มาสอบถามได้นะครับ

New Points Test for General Skilled Migration (GSM) Announced

The Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, the Honourable Chris Bowen MP, has announced the new Points Test for General Skilled Migration (GSM) on 11 Nov 2010. Designed to complement the new Skilled Occupation List (SOL) that came into effect on 1 July, the Points Test is "proposed to take effect from 1 July 2011, subject to passage of supporting legislation through the Parliament. It will apply to anyone lodging an application from 1 July 2011." The new points test will not apply to unfinalised applications lodged prior to 1 July 2011. The new points test will not change the generous transitional arrangement in place until 31 Dec 2012 for former international students. Amongst its features: Distinction between 40/50/60 point occupations abolished, those points removed from test Age points adjusted to reflect productive working years rather than youth Additional 10 point differential introduced for “Superior English” language ability (IELTS 8) Additional points for extended periods of employment in Australia Additional points for longer periods of professional experience generally Considerable additional points for university graduates, particularly for applicants with PhDs Relative advantages of trade and degree qualified occupations have been reversed Regional nomination and family sponsorship points reduced No indication of difference between independent and sponsored pass marks at this stage Pass mark of 65
